Don Herndon grew up on the move 19 times across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, learning early how to adapt and forge genuine connections in any environment. At 16, he ditched hourly work to flip iPhones, discovering a knack for self-directed sales and a willingness to fail fast in pursuit of more significant gains.
That entrepreneurial spark led Don to a door-to-door role at Weed Man, where he managed over 100 reps, producing $250K in revenue within nine months. He went on to sell insurance, leads, and SaaS, continuously refining a consultative, data-driven approach, often the hard way through trial and error. Determined to take on more complex challenges, he joined Gartner as one of its youngest Executive Business Development Directors, selling to mid-sized enterprises ($50M–$1B in revenue). There, he honed advanced sales ops tactics while grappling with the mistakes that inevitably come from pushing the envelope.
Today, as the founder of Simple Genius, Don channels his experiences, both the wins and the stumbles, into a clear mission: helping B2B startups and SMBs convert product-market fit into sustainable, tech-powered revenue.
